An Updated Sequence Stratigraphy for the Jurassic of the North Sea Region – Impact on the Maximisation of the Remaining Hydrocarbon Potential and the Energy Transition
Our Principal Stratigrapher Phil Copestake will be giving a talk at the GESGB evening lecture next week.
Phil will be presenting a revised sequence stratigraphy scheme for the Jurassic–lowermost Cretaceous of the region, that was published in 2023 (Copestake & Partington, 2023).
Sequence stratigraphy has become such a powerful tool in the basin analysis of the North Sea Basin. It will continue to help in the maximisation of the remaining hydrocarbon resources of Jurassic reservoirs in the region, whilst also supporting the energy transition. One not to miss!
The event will be hosted via zoom online and GESGB members can register for free here on the membership platform before 17:00 on the 30th April.
