Last month Merlin said good-bye to Gerald, a stalwart member of the Datawise team for the last 12 years, who took the big step into retirement to seek adventures new.
Gerald joined Datawise in September 2009 as a temporary data management assistant and got on so well in our friendly company he never left, becoming a permanent Merlin employee in December 2009. Since then, Gerald has been a well-loved and important member of the team. His consistent friendly, hard-working and determined nature was appreciated by all. As was his prowess on the cricket pitch during our occasional Merlin cricket matches, much to the detriment of his nose on one occasion!
Gerald is looking forward to pursuing his many keen interests and hobbies, including fishing, photography and golf. His favourite pastime at any given moment tends to change, with golf being the current front-runner. However, with more time on his hands perhaps the fish in Worcestershire and Herefordshire should be issued a due warning!
So, here’s to you Gerald, we all wish you the very best for retirement and hope that it will be a healthy, happy, and fulfilling time for you.
With the departure of Gerald, Merlin Datawise has welcomed new members to the team to carry on the excellent work. Look out for a future newsletter where we welcome our new team members properly. The Datawise team are busy developing new services which build upon the experience and insight gained from a twenty two year track record in legacy information services to propel the company into a new digital future.
