Merlin is mindful of our place within the wider community. As an energy company we understand current environmental issues and the push to secure our planet for future generations. We will work to be part of those changes by providing technical support which considers, and aims to limit, the impact of energy production from fossil fuels while also supporting emerging renewable energy solutions.
As Merlin is Employee-Owned, the staff are the company, and so we strive to create a safe, stimulating and fun environment for them to work in. In addition, we encourage our staff to give back to their local and global communities.
Environmental
As part of the company strategy, Merlin is committed to transitioning to 25% non-fossil fuel revenue within 5 years.
We recognise the need for continued fossil fuel products in the near term and so work to optimise projects to minimise their environmental impact.
As we operate across the globe, Merlin uses video conferencing to ensure close links with clients, thus limiting the need for travel.
We run a paperless office and encourage staff to work digitally, reducing environmental impact of printing.
Merlin is committed to using environmentally friendly products across our business.
Social
As an employee owned company, all employees have a voice. This brings staff together and encourages development in areas of interest.
We have a number of support services in place to help with mental and physical well being of staff.
Health & safety is important and Merlin maintains an excellent record.
As we are on the doorstep of the Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark, Merlin is proud to provide both knowledge and financial support to this area of outstanding geology. Read more

Company Governance
Becoming Employee-Owned enables employees to actively participate in the governance of the company.
The Merlin Board is accountable to an Employee Owner Trust Board which includes a Director elected by the staff.
