This fossil Ammonite is from the Cretaceous rocks of north west Madagascar and is approx. 110 million years old. It has been cut in half and polished to show the structure of the internal growth chambers. The outside of the Ammonite still retains some of the original shell which shows some lovely mother-of-pearl iridescence. It has been identified as a species of the genus Desmoceras.
